Wedding Creches
The Perfect answer to that age-old dilemma of whether or not to invite children to your big day.Whether or not to invite children to your wedding is a dilemma many couples encounter. You may already have children yourselves, or you may have family and friends with young children. Should you decide not to invite children to your big day - be prepared for the backlash, as well as the possibility that some guests may decide to decline your invitation altogether.
So what is the solution I hear you cry? A wedding creche! Wedding creches are a relatively new idea, although have been growing in popularity in the Home Counties for a few years now. A creche alleviates the stress of worrying if the children will play-up, get bored/tired/fidgety/mischievous etc. throughout the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception.
A creche company usually operates in a separate room at your reception venue. Usually, if you are spending a tidy-sum with the reception provider anyway, they will be only too happy to throw in a smaller function room. A small conference sized- room is usually adequate, but obviously this depends on the number of children that need to be cared for. The creche provider will then provide toys and activities to keep the children happy for a few hours. Toys should be age-appropriate and should cater for the age-range of the children attending. Staff on duty should be qualified in childcare (usually Nursery Nursing) and a good creche provider should have a first aider on duty.
Typically a wedding creche commences when guests arrive at the reception and runs throughout the wedding breakfast and speeches, usually running for about 3 hours.
